I have still been on my challenges this year; however, I have not been as committed to them as I usually am. I am re-evaluating my life once again to see where I need to make changes at this time. I have slipped on a few things like doing my blogs and weekly challenges and am behind just a tad. So, I am going to spend the next few days playing catch up. I feel like I want to stay committed to the things I have put some time and effort towards. This will be my 65th blog so I should just keep at it!
One of the reasons I have not been as committed to them is because I am not sure if there is a benefit to doing them at all. Like many things, I question if it is the right thing to do. I have been pondering on life at the moment as well as who I am and what I want. So, as always, I am willing to share those thoughts with you all. So here are a few things that have been rattling around in my head.
Do I have to struggle so much?
At times, I do get tired having to constantly work hard at everything I do. Especially when it seems as if a lot of people have huge successes without a lot of effort. I also know that we don't see the journey others have taken to get to where they are, so it is likely been a lot of work. I realize that if I view my life less as a struggle but more as lessons to be learned, it changes the perception of my reality. When I look at the things I have encountered, they have allowed me my biggest growth and accelerated my momentum forward.
How do I find & grow my tribe?
Life and its successes are never done alone. If you can find others who share the same vision to help and support, it makes for a more interesting & fulfilling journey. My next goal is to continue finding more people to connect with and hopefully grow a community around me and the work I do.
Working through Anxiety & Overwhelm
When you consistently work on something, it grows. You pick up new experiences , your skills grow and increase, a lot more people see what you do, your connection widens and everything seems magnified tenfolds. This can be overwhelming especially on top of a very long laundry list of everyday chores, being a single mum, working on your business and having just adopted 2 puppies. However, gratitude gets me through at times of overwhelm. I think about what has gone right and I am quite proud of how far I have come through, personally and business wise. It has been a very long road filled with varying challenges but somehow, I always manage to pull through. That alone makes me realise I am capable of doing more than I ever thought I could.
Consistency is key
Nothing is ever easy and the truth is, success is all about your willingness to push through even when the going gets tough. You wake up every morning, do your daily grind, learn from your mistakes, find new ways to solve your dilemma, rinse and repeat. You can't expect to be successful if you are not willing to encounter bumps along the road because there will be many. One of your most effective weapons to combat them is consistency. Work at things repeatedly until you get it right. And I am a walking testimony that trusting this process has its benefits. It sure is not easy but believe me when I say it pays off.
To end this blog, I'm sharing this precious photo with some of our students when they spoke at the Hastings Lion group about Maia Dreams & Confident Me. I had the privilege of meeting these 3 Rangatahi 5 to 7 years ago. They have been in many of our programs ever since. We are so proud of them and they are some of the faces that fuels me to be consistent. After all, building confidence is not an overnight process but an ongoing one.
