Part One: Achieving Goals for 2022 ‘Passionately Failing Towards Success

I have always felt a burning sensation and urge to go big and excel in all areas of my life. That burning desire has been with me for as long as I can remember. As I have said in my previous Blogs, I have learned more in the last 5 years than those times before that. It's because I pushed myself more than I ever have. But now, I want more from life. I cannot do the same things and expect to grow further. I have learnt that there is no limit to what we can achieve. It is a process getting there and every experience and opportunity offers more knowledge to do better and be better. I realize it takes a lot of hard work just to figure out how to achieve everything and it definitely is not an overnight process. In 2020, I spent around 100 hours researching everything I could on Goal Setting. I also learned to become a goal achiever and not just someone who sets them. I spent 75 hours on my 10 year vision board. And through this experience, it taught me a lot and I was able to achieve more than I ever have.

In 2022, I want to achieve bigger things and it is something I am willing to work on. What I have learnt over the last 5 year is that it takes a lot of time to get really clear on what we want. However, there are key principles that we can implement into daily habits that will allow us to achieve our goals. In 2021, I achieved more than I ever have and I am now looking at making 2022 even bigger. So to be able to do that, I need to organize & schedule my life better. This is so that I will be able to do everything in balance. Even though I am really unsure, scared and I can feel myself at times starting to self sabotage my progress and question whether I am capable, knowing my purpose and my Why in life drives me to continue. That is why I am grateful for my theme for my year ‘Passionately Failing Towards Success’ and how I am choosing to document my journey. This theme allows me to be present and consistently monitor my progress and make sure that I am on track.

What has become evident with my busy schedule is my need to make time in my life and clearly identify what I need to be working on daily and then track my progress. That way, I will have a better chance of achieving my goals without getting burned out, failing or not achieving it. So in this Part 1 of my achieving my Goals Blog, I am going to share a few of my personal preparations and insights to what I am doing to achieve my goals for this year and beyond. First I am identifying what I can use from previous years to improve my chances of success for this year. I review my questions I need to ponder on. And a little bit about how I prepare my daily goals/task and schedules.

REFLECTION

A few areas I have learnt over the last few years that I have reflected on to make 2022 even better:

  • My daily habits will make the big changes in my life

  • I need to constantly evaluate what I am doing. Even when I think it is my best it may not be the right thing to do. So to be aware of this, and to make sure I track my progress will be crucial. Otherwise, I may be working on something that will never work out. Or may be following the direction I shouldn't take.

  • I need to put in work to achieve the things that I want.

  • Consistency and taking action is what will allow me to reach my goals.

  • I have a tendency to start some things but never finish them off to the best of my abilities. As I said in my last Blog, I am working on not Multitasking and instead, I'm working on one task until it is completed. That is what I am doing to organize my goals, schedules and vision board.

  • I am skilled in quite a few areas. However, it is best that I prioritize what is Good, Better & choose the Best.

  • What holds me back from really succeeding are my thoughts and sometimes, my inability to stay on course. I do ok and then go backwards. So instead of going backwards for any reason, I am going to take a time out and pause. Then, proceed after.

  • I try to do too many things. E.g singing gigs, vlogs, blogs, immaculate house, weed gardens, develop, deliver, create programmes, health, training & performing. However, those are too many things that I will never fully be able to go all in.

  • I need to organise my day so that I know what I am working on during right time of the day.

  • Schedule regular holidays to rest & reset.

  • Do a clean up of people in life and online.

  • Don’t ever let anyone stop me from doing what I love.

  • Don’t dim my light to make others feel less uncomfortable.

  • Regularly Spring Clean

GOAL QUESTIONS I AM PONDERING:

How much am I able to achieve in a year?

How much can my business grow in a year?

How much can I transform in a year?

How much money can I make in a year?

How big can my goals be this year?

PLANNING

In order for me to get everything done, I have to put a plan in place to follow. Otherwise, my time can be scattered, distracted and not used wisely. We all feel as if we have so much to do and never enough time in the day. So, the first thing I have done is I have scheduled everything into my google calendar for the next 6 months. I am 70% through completing the next 6 months of my life which has taken me a lot of time but has given me a sense of security, order and clarity.

DAILY SCHEDULE FOR SUCCESS

I have scheduled my 24 hours to have the most productive and successful upcoming year. This daily schedule is from 5:15am to 11:30pm. I have incorporated all of the things that are important for me to do or things that I need to work on and have scheduled my day accordingly. This will not be easy to implement at first but I am going to test it out for a month starting Monday, 28th February 2022, to see how it goes. I am also aware that there will be unforeseen circumstances that will arise and I will do my best to accommodate any changes. CLARITY TO ACHIEVE

This has taken a bit of time to organise but it will help me stay focused, create balance in my life and give me clarity around achieving my best this coming year. I have already done 2 days of this schedule and I feel as if I am able to stay on top of everything. I have had to alter a few things like I needed more sleep so I got up later. I worked on something different but I managed to stay with in the allocated times. The biggest joy was being able to hang out a little long with my daughter. That's definitely winning to me. I am aware that this will take time to implement but I feel it will be a worthwhile experiment to see how to achieve at a higher level. Part 2 will be the breakdown of my Why, Purpose & How I set Achievable Goals and my plan and Part 3 will be how I created my vision board and how I put all the pieces together. Start today working on your goals even if it is just one step.
