If you have read my previous blogs, you will see how much time I've put into preparing for 2023. From spring cleaning, decluttering, goal setting, vision boarding, planning and preparing. I also began 3 new challenges:
1. Year-long Challenge called 'Passionately Failing Towards Greatness'.
2. 90 Day Challenge to Take Relentless Consistent Action'. This will help me to improve my discipline to further support my goals.
3. The Maia Dreams 30 Day Challenge Self Growth Journal. This will help me embed strong daily habits.
The biggest purpose of my 30 & 90 Day challenges was to create a routine that would push and support me to go farther than ever. It was to help me to stay focused on my tasks, work, activities, and goals. In order for me to complete all these areas required me to increase my discipline.
This week, I wanted to share 3 of the areas I am doing to increase my discipline.
Maia Dreams 30 Day Challenge Self Growth Journal
This has been one of the biggest areas that have boosted my progress. To be able to create and check in morning and night has been crucial to me being so committed. It allows me to reflect on gratitude, monitor my emotions, create daily tasks, repeat daily affirmations and have a daily to-do list (This part is where I get to tick off my goals and tasks when I have completed them all. This gives me such a sense of satisfaction) Then, I can journal thoughts or inspiration throughout the day then write about how my day went. To have all these in one book has been the foundation to start this year strong.
Tracking my goals & tasks
My spending
My Food intake
Cardio
Daily Tasks
Goals
Calendar
Time
I realized that in order for me to improve my life in these areas, I needed to know what I am putting in my mouth, what I am spending, what I am completing in the day and what I am spending my time doing. This allowed me to confirm that I am following through with my goals. At times, we want to improve in a particular area, but we don’t know what we are doing. Tracking and writing it down allows me to deep dive or have an in-depth examination or analysis of what I am doing in these areas. I am writing down and tracking everything in a journal for the next 30 days to see where I am unconsciously doing things. This will help me identify what I can work on and most importantly, break old habits to give way to new and better ones.

I am on day 15th and so far, I have completed these goals and tasks the best way I can, and I actually look forward to achieving my routines. I have definitely seen vast improvements in a relatively short period of time. I have never committed to following through with such a disciplined routine, but it is helping me to progress even further. I am achieving around 20 to 30 goals and tasks a day. That’s huge!
Purpose of Discipline
I have big goals and visions and in order for me to achieve them, I know I need to be more disciplined. It imparts in me the ability to persevere, the motivation and desire to stick to it for several months and a lot of the times, even years. It allows me to stay more focused on all the small areas that will compound in the future. In order for me to work on improving and achieving goals and tasks, I need to be able to work on the small things relentlessly. These 3 areas are helping me get there. I want to end this blog with a quote from John C. Maxwell, "Motivation gets you going but discipline keeps you growing".
